Select wp_users and wp_posts to retrieve data from both tables in order to display post title, post date, author name with gravatar (gravatar isn't listed in this code)
Note: probably not idea solution, but it's one of many fixes

Box shadow properties (example) box-shadow: 1px 3px 5px 2px #c6c6c6;
1px = horizontal offset
3px = vertical offset
5px = blur radius
2px = spread distance
#c6c6c6 = color

Use css for rounding corners instead of images.
Also use css3 for creating circles.
