Extremely simple... just pass in the string you want to ellipse, and the position you want to do it at. The code takes care of the rest.

This Perl one-liner will remove all newline characters from a text file, replacing them with a space. In the source, all newline characters in the file gear_list.xml are replaced with spaces, and the original file is saved as gear_list.xml.bak

I'm not sure where this comes from, although it looks official. It's easy to implement, but to change the height of the scrollbar you have to delve into the developer assets folder within the FLA.
