YPRES is a New York based lifestyle imprint, with an upmarket line of menswear primarily sourced and manufactured in the U.S. Its vision is to create practical furnishings, with comfort and unique aesthetic in mind, breaking from conventional standards. Garment programs are carefully planned to achieve pieces that will inspire, serving as an outlet for personal style. Founded by Alan Grobman in late 2015, filling an empty space in the market for quality layering options, YPRES is the catalyst to bring individuality back to a mass market: “As someone that feels naked without an undershirt, I always had a difficult time finding interesting, high quality garments to layer with. Most crew-necks, V-necks and tanks are either too plain or too flashy- I like that happy medium. That’s where the idea for the brand started. The layering tank program is designed to be different while still blending in, incorporating classic print design, ultra soft fabrics and versatile colorways. YPRES is important to me because it is an extension of me. It’s my interpretation of the world, and what I can create to help others express their individuality”. Future collections will maintain the unique aesthetic of our core layering programs with color blending and contrast, plush fabric texture and seamless form-complementing drape, adding basics like long sleeve casual button downs and sophisticated T-shirts. Trim and packaging play an integral role in defining the brand as well, from custom rib knitting and surface pattern design to a detailed finishing process, with quality and sustainability at its forefront.
