Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and Devotees Welcome the Year of Lights and Honor Future Africa Leaders\r\nIf you have ever visited an event organized by Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and LoveWorld, you know how special they are. One of the most memorable services is the New Year’s Eve Ceremony. In 2018, it was held in the LoveWorld Arena in Lagos, and it was a perfect opportunity for the pastor to talk about the upcoming year and present the Future African Leader Awards.\r\nEveryone was impatient to find out what will be the word of the year. It was “Supernatural” in 2018, and 2019 is set to be a Year of Lights with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. The pastor emphasized that there were plenty of prophecies and miracles in the year behind us.\r\n“We have different types of light – those used for illumination, but also light for guidance, leadership, and empowerment. Christ’s return is getting near, and darkness will cover our planet. As the darkness becomes bigger, your light will shine brighter,” said Oyakhilome.\r\nThe pastor hasn’t missed mentioning the success of the Rhapsody of Realities, the daily devotional that you can access online for free. The statistics show that over 1.3 billion copies were distributed to the devotees throughout the globe. \r\nThe entire event was streamed via LoveWorld TV channels. Those who were present in the arena or watched from home could enjoy beautiful performances of gospel musicians. UR Flames, Joe Prize, Mr. Jaga, and Password, all had energetic acts. The crowd was dancing and singing while reaffirming their faith. \r\nThe peak moment of the evening happened when the time came to present the Future Africa Leader Awards. Chris Oyakhilome invited Olusegun Obasanjo, the former president of Nigeria, to join him on stage and present the “Star Prize” award. \r\nThe winner was a 20-year old Isaiah Deng from South Sudan, who was given the prize and 25,000 dollars. Deng was awarded for his contributions to the education and empowerment of the youth in his country, which is ridden by civil war. Deng established a program called “Get Skills for Your Future” in which he trained and educated no less than 20 youth people on PC repair and optimization, as well as the installation of solar power. Apart from that, Deng has multiple other helpful projects, such as “Stop Hunger in Sudan,” which enabled low-income families to get food. \r\nSome other Future Africa Leaders Award nominees include Dahaba Daniel Sakho, the creator of a couple of helpful apps in Senegal, and Ngassa Merlin, who set up programs for youth entrepreneurship in Cameroon.\r\nThe ceremony undoubtedly made the hearts of thousands warm and inspired everyone to look forward to the upcoming Year of Lights.
