Pastor Chris Announces the “Year of Light” and FALA Winners\r\nAt the end of 2018, Pastor Chris Oyakhilome and the Church Embassy church organized a traditional New Year Service. The venue chosen was LoveWorld Convocation Arena in Lagos, and the event was highly anticipated for two things. First, the pastor was supposed to reveal the prophetic word for 2019 and second, Future Africa Leaders’ Award was to be given to the person who deserved it the most.\r\nApart from the two, the crucial highlight of the event was the attendance of Olusegun Obasanjo who used to be the president of Nigeria. He agreed to be the one presenting the FALA award, which was a huge honor for everyone involved. Apart from Obasanjo, the Minister of Sport of Nigeria Honorable Solomon Dalong also attended the event.\r\nWhat Is the Word of the Year for 2019?\r\nAccording to what Chris Oyakhilome revealed during his speech, 2019 will be the year of “light.” The president of LoveWorld explained its significance.\r\n“You can find various sorts of lights out there. Some of them serve to illuminate, but others are to guide and lead. There are also lights for wonders, signs, and empowerment. The Bible mentions that we are now close to Christ’s return. The Earth will be faced with thick darkness. He pinpoints that will be spiritual darkness, but that is what will enable your light to shine. You will shine brightly even as the darkness gets big,” said the pastor.\r\nWho Won the Future African Leaders’ Award?\r\nThere are no better examples of those who shine than people who received the FALA awards for their contributions to the community. There were numerous excellent candidates for the prize, but only one was given the “Star Award.”\r\nIt was Isaiah Deng from South Sudan who focused on the fields of sustainable development and education. LoveWorld awarded him for his contributions in the area of education. Unfortunately, a civil war has been going on in Sudan for years now, which resulted in many children facing poverty and lack of education.\r\nDeng established numerous training centers and organized multiple education seminars with the goal of empowering youth people throughout the country with knowledge. That is what will give them a chance for a better future. Within the skills that the youths could learn in the program are also computer skills, which are vital in the 21st century.\r\nAt the end of the day, it was a memorable New Year service with Pastor Chris Oyakhilome. The LoveWorld TV was streaming the event live so that everyone interested could enjoy watching.
