Since 2010, Evangelos is a head and majority shareholder of the most successful & most popular soccer team in Greece, Olympiacos FC. Under his possession, Olympiacos has received seven consecutive championships 2010/2011, 2011/12, 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15, 2015/16 and 2016/17 and the best ranking position (21st) in European countries, in Olympiacos’ background of all times. In 2017, he broadened his sporting horizons further when he became the majority owner of storied English football club Nottingham Forest FC Evangelos was created in 1967 found in the Greek interface city of Piraeus. He\'s the boy of Miltiadis Marinakis, a shipowner and politician from Crete. His mother is usually Irene Karakatsanis, whose family hail from the Pontus location and descend from the prominent Ypsilantis family. Throughout his life, he is a solid supporter of actions to commemorate the victims of the genocide of the Greeks of Pontus, a lesser known tragedy where around 350,000 Greeks perished.
