pseudocode for sync object

take ref to container obj_l
take ref  to container obj_r

given a check for 


establish a pair
give the pair a serial number obj_id
	this way we can at least tell if they *should* be the same
	associate a date (and maybe a checksum) with that 
	


watch the filesystem of have the file system journal for changes to this
	set a marker for quick-sync
 

when looking at remote items quick-sync will compare date listing/hashes
	if needed the checksum (hash function?) can be applied
Also, a listing of obj_id(s) from meta data can determine if something is broken or altered


routine to restore broken/altered pairs
	which is more recent?
	which is larger?
