Wiegevorrichtung mit hoher Nennlast sind meist mit Scherstab-Wägezellen ausgerüstet, deren Funktionsweise denen der Biegebalken sehr ähnlich ist. Ein Scherstab ist zum Messen von senkrechter Krafteinleitung geeignet, S-förmige Federkörper dienen zur Ermittlung von Zugkraft.
