Increase maximum signature length in Outlook Web Access

 / Published in: Windows Registry

When editing your signature in Outlook Web Access, you may have seen this error message:

Your signature exceeds the maximum size allowed. Please reduce its length or formatting before attempting to save again.

This registry tweak will increase the maximum signature length from the default 4 KB to 16 KB. Feel free to change this to a lower number if you prefer, but 16 KB is apparently the maximum possible.

This registry tweak needs to be applied on the Exchange server itself.

  1. Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
  2.
  3. [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\MSExchangeWEB\OWA]
  4. "SignatureMaxLength"=dword:00004000
