Add all the natural numbers below one thousand that are multiples of 3 or 5.

If we list all the natural numbers below 10 that are multiples of 3 or 5, we get 3, 5, 6 and 9.

The sum of these multiples is 23. http://projecteuler.net/index.php?section=problems&id=1

  1. def numberList = []
  2. for (i in 1..999) {
  3. if (i.mod(3) == 0){
  4. numberList.add(i)
  5. }
  6. else if (i.mod(5) == 0){
  7. numberList.add(i)
  8. }
  9. }
  10. println "totoal = " + numberList.sum()

Or you could just write one single line:

(1..999).findAll { it % 3 == 0 || it % 5 ==0 }.sum()

Kind Regards

Or maybe the math way if you consider that multiples will form a arithmetic progression.
